Scope and Contents

The collection consists of 126 folders containing reports, publications and correspondence of organizations, mostly religious, relating to peace and reconciliation in Northern Ireland. The materials were gathered in the course of research by Dr. Ronald Wells. Included are print materials such as reports, event programs, sermon texts and discussion and training materials from organizations, mainly church organizations. Ecumenical dialogue, peacebuilding and reconciliation are central to most of the materials.

Abstract

A collection of materials on peace and reconciliation in Northern Ireland, including documents relating to the work of religious organizations. The collection includes papers of a number of religious organizations. The collection includes papers of a number of religious groups that formed between 1990 and 2005 to work towards reconciliation, and also on the work of the Consultative Group on the Past. The collection includes also pamphlets and books. Most of the collection dates from 1984 to 2006.

Arrangement

The collection is arranged in twelve series as follows: Series 1: Clonard-Fitzroy Fellowship; series 2: Presbyterian Church in Ireland; series 3: Church of Ireland; series 4: Evangelical contribution on Northern Ireland; series 5: Columbanus Community of Reconciliation; series 6: Healing Through Remembering; series 7: The Consultative Group on the Past; series 8: Christian Renewal Centre; series 9: pamphlets and reports; series 10: press clippings; series 11: audio and video.
