Written by various members of the Walker family to the Needhams in Whiting, Vermont. The 5 April 1857 letter includes a poem by son Albert titled, "Herbert's Piece". The 15 October 1857 letter notes the death of Eliza Needham Walker due to consumption. The 16 July 1858 letter notes the deaths of two infants, Andre and Lillie, while the 8 October 1859 letter notes the birth of a girl, called Carrie Eliza. The 8 October letter also includes a brief summary of Joseph Needham Walker's trip to the West.
