Diary of Anna Strunsky Walling, 1936 July-September
Scope and Contents
The volume contains sporadic entries from 13 July to 16 September. The lengthy entries written by the author while traveling to Amsterdam with her son Hayden after the death of William English Walling are especially revealing. The following appears on the front pastedown: "I write these to read to English. All these diaries are for him. We are to read them together when we are both old. But he did not wait and he did not know." The volume appears to be lacking 14 leaves. Included in the folder are 4 loose leaves of uncertain date.
