Scope and Contents

This notebook is entitled "'My Spring' Notebook N.2 the End of Perestiuk and the Beginning of Azbelev" (Moia Vesna Tetrad N. 2 Konets Perestiuka i Nachalo Azbeleva). It belongs to the series of notebooks describing Rusudana's sudent years in the gymnasium in the Caucasus and in the Women's Institute in St. Petersburg between 1901-1907. The other two notebooks available in the collection are "Notebook N. 5.: 1906-1912 'Two Nicholases'" and "Notebook N. 6. 'Days of our Life' . . . Continuation 1907-08" (see folders 12 and 13). It appears that "My Spring" was begun by RNN as an Illustrated Memoir in Didi Dzhikhaishi in March 1916 (see p. 555). Additions to the text appear to have been made by RNN in 1926 (see p. 553) and the 1960s. The text is written in Russian. The notebook describes Rusudana's first year as a student in St. Petersburg in 1903-1904 and contains occasional passages about the political and revolutionary activity of Rusudana's cousin, the social democrat Iraklii Tsereteli.
