Comments on President Jackson's First Annual Message to Congress (8 December 1829): "Well! we have the President's message to day. he has provided work, with reforming and overturning, for a long time to come — it is well written and very plausible. but I hope the Supreme, will over rule, even this ruler, for his glory and the good of the nation . . . ."
