Scope and Contents

Diaries, awards, maps, passports and identity papers, obituaries, financial documents, grades and other personal papers belonging to members of the Ball family. Most notable among these are award certificates given to Sydney Hobart Ball by the Belgian government, a two-volume diary that Ball kept between 1907 and 1909 documenting his mining explorations in the Congo, his death notice and will, Mary Virginia Ball's list of publications and a diary kept by Farlin Quigley Ball during a trip to Mexico in 1885.
