Scope and Contents
Contains four works: Two typescript drafts, one English translation and the other in the original Irish, of "A Story About the Year of the French"/ "Scéal faoi Bhliain na bhFrancach" previously contained in the envelope labelled "Dr. Richard Hayes." The story was originally transcribed for the Folklore Commission by Liam Costelloe as recounted by Tomás Ó Cearbhaill of Leitir Brón, Sligo. Additionally includes a short story, "The Pink House" by Marie Kenny; an essay, "Suarez on the Origin of Civil Authority," by E. Masterson, SJ; and a poem, "Riding West from Galway: The Rough Road to Carna," by P.J. O'Connor Duffy ("Shiel MacDara").
