Background

An association of religious communities and individuals dedicated to justice and peace who cooperate in educational outreach and political action. IJPC has committees on Peace, Central America, Racism, Women and the Church, Women and Poverty, and Economic Justice.

In 1992 the sponsors were Sisters of Charity, Sisters of St. Joseph of Medaille, Sisters of Mercy, Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, and Franciscan Sisters of the Poor; associate members were Dominican Sisters of the Sick Poor, Good Shepherd Sisters, Sisters of the Precious Blood, Sisters of St. Ursula, Ursulines of Brown County. An advisory (governing) board consists of representatives delegated by sponsors.

The Center has its offices in Cincinnati, Ohio, where Louise Akers, SC, served as coordinator, 1985-1992.
