Background
University of Notre Dame class of 1920; ordained a priest in 1927; worked at the Holy Cross Foreign Mission Seminary in Washington, DC, edited its magazine, Bengalese, and taught church history at Holy Cross College; in the 1930s a member of the mission band at Notre Dame; in the 1940s Vice-President of St. Edward's University (Austin, Texas), rector of St George's College (Santiago, Chile), and member of the faculty at Kings College (Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania); professor of philosophy at Notre Dame, 1951-1959.
