Raymond M. Funk, Jr., Papers
Scope and Content
Correspondence with possible guest authors at the 1972 University of Notre Dame Sophomore Literary Festival and their agents, sometimes with related publicity, collected by the chairman of the festival. The majority of the correspondents express their regrets that they cannot participate in the festival; the correspondence with the authors who did attend is naturally more extensive and usually relates to arrangements for attending but in a few cases includes more substantial topics as well. Also includes a few letters with guest authors at previous festivals. These authors accepted the invitation in 1972: Charles Newman, Jerzy Kosinski, Diane Wakoski, Robert Coover, Robert Duncan, William H. Gass, John A. Williams, Jay Neugeboren, and Allen Ginsberg.
