Background
Brother Agatho entered the brothers' novitiate of the Congregation of Holy Cross 6 January 1917, made his final profession of vows 25 June 1922, and accepted a dispensation from his vows 7 September 1942. Rev. James A. Burns, CSC, an authority on Catholic education, served as President of the University of Notre Dame from 1919 to 1922.
