Background

Catholic author and editor Vincent J. Giese graduated from Saint Joseph College in Rensselaer, Indiana, in 1945, earned a Notre Dame Master of Science in Education degree in 1950, and served as editorial director for Fides publishing, 1950-1962. After working at Fides as a layman, Giese studied for the priesthood, and after 1968, as a priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago, served as an editor of The New World . In the 1970s and 1980s he edited Our Sunday Visitor.
