Background

Kenneth M. Sayre received a Ph.D. in philosophy from Harvard University in 1958 and for the rest of his academic career taught in the philosophy department of the University of Notre Dame starting in 1959. He wrote extensively in the areas of artificial intelligence (AI), cybernetics, information theory, philosophy of mind, environmental philosophy, epistemology, and Plato.
