Background

Fr. Nelson H. Baker, a priest of the Diocese of Buffalo, was born 16 February 1842 and died 29 July 1936. He was known for his sanctity, for his service to the poor, and for his development in Our Lady of Victory parish in Lackawanna, New York, "a minor basilica, an infant home, a home for unwed mothers, a boys' orphanage, a boys' protectory, a hospital, a nurses' home, and a grade and high school." (Wikipedia).
