Scope and Contents

He returns his sincere thanks for the donation of $25 and also many thanks in behalf of the ladies who have erected this little chapel at City Point, Virginia, and named in honor of his patron saint St. Denis. Mullan will send a draft for the amount sent to Father J.T. O'Farrell at Petersburg who has charge of their chapel. He sent a copy to each of the Catholic publishers in New York City with a request to put the notice of the dedication by Bishop Keane in their papers. They will be a week or ten days longer in New York and are preparing for their cruise around the world. Mullan's wife, who originated the idea of building the chapel, is now in California having left New York with their two little boys on November 21. (P.S.) The Lieutenant Davenport Seton speaks of is deceased but has a son a lieutenant now on board the Nipsic.
