He was glad to hear of Purcell through Mr. Springer. He does not understand how Purcell's years can stand so much labor and fatigue. Many events have taken place since Purcell left Rome. He does not think Father William Nolan will accept, as he wishes to leave in order to secure a better mission than the one he has.
