At the request of Father August Bessonies he writes to asks Purcell's influence in favor of a lady, formerly member of the Sisterhood of Providence. He has known Sister St. Charles Ryan for over 12 years. She was superioress in many important branch-houses of her community. The Ursuline Sisters at Springfield, Ill. persistently invited her to join them, and urged by her desire to lead a more perfect life, she accepted the invitation. But she did not find the house she expected and is now living with relatives.
