Navarron, Father Louis, Stone Lick, Ohio, to Archbishop John Baptist Purcell, of Cincinnati, Ohio, 1866 September 18
Scope and Contents
Mr. Fraschord read Purcell's letter; no one denied it to him. It is not true that Navarron put his hand on the shoulders of some people at the door of the church. Long before Purcell's visit last year, he informed the trustees of the congregation of the miserable state of the roof of the church. They replied that they wanted a new church. Several times his housekeeper refused to talk of the affairs of the congregation when pressed to do so by certain ladies. All were glad when he announced that he was remaining at Stone Lick with Purcell's approbation. He has $27 for the seminary from St. Louis Church, New Boston and from St. Philomena Church. He wants Mass intentions. :: II-5-c A.L.S. 4pp. 8vo.
