Fitzgerald, Father Edward, Columbus, Ohio, to Archbishop John Baptist Purcell, of Cincinnati, Ohio, 1862 November 6

When he was in Cincinnati he called on Purcell at the request of Father Michael Hallinan. He thought he owed that much to his old professor and superior. Hallinan states he can clear up the charges made against him. Hallinan can obtain favorable letters from Boston and Philadelphia. His conduct at Columbus was edifying.
