He is gratified that his efforts have met with Purcell's approbation. With him loyalty to the truth is loyalty to the glorious Old Church. No criticisms have appeared in the press as yet. Archbishop John Hughes wrote that he was well pleased with the work. He lists the persons and reviews to which he sent copies. Dr. Levi Silliman Ives called upon him after receiving his copy.
