Scope and Contents

Father Provincial returned from the South with Father P.J. Franciscus who is cured of his poor man's gout. He tells of the great functions going on. Golden Jubilee of Brothers Anastasius, Basil, Boniface and Benjamin C.S.C.'s with strict temperance. At sic there is a great supper in their house with wine, beer, cigars, coffee and Three Star Hennessy. Father William A. Moloney left for Portland. Father Timothy Crowley has just gone to Bengal. He names a list that send regards to Edwards. Father Timothy Murphy C.S.C. was there; Edwards did not go to his father's funeral. He tries to get along with red wine and Vichy. :: XI-2-j A.L.S. 2pp.
