O'Donaghue, Bishop Denis, Indianapolis, Indiana to Father John W. Cavanaugh, Notre Dame, Indiana, 1907 January 18

 Item — Box: CEDW 14, Folder: 01
Identifier: CEDW XI-2-j

Scope and Contents

Cavanaugh may recall their conversation about Solinus, who as quoted by Douglas Hyde, says that in his day there were no snakes in Ireland. He gives references looking at the snake story. If the quotation were authentic it would do much to put to rest the tradition about St. Patrick and the snakes. :: XI-2-j L.S.(Typed) 1p.
