Gregori, Fannie Cormons, Austria to James F. Edwards Notre Dame, Indiana, 1898 February 28
Scope and Contents
How badly Edwards must have felt to be away while poor Father Corby bid farewell to his Community! She had written Corby about the paper he had from her father. This paper was an obligation from a Mgr. Massareuti of Rome to give her father Lire 10,000. Corby tried to see if there was any way to realize this credit but in vain. She asks Edwards to send her a copy of the paper and see if the signature is legalized. She is sorry to hear the the Nativity has been copied not only by Sister Florentine but also by strangers She must beg Father Andrew Morrissey not to allow anyone to do it again unless they pay her $200. If the painting was not to be sold, it would be different.
