Gregori, Fannie, Cormons, Austria to James F. Edwards, Notre Dame, Indiana, 1896 August 27
Scope and Contents
Her heart is still so full that she could not write to thank Edwards for his remembrance of her father Luigi Gregori. In March the doctor said that his days were counted. His life during his illness had become a constant prayer. He was rewarded for his faith with a holy death. She asks Edwards to show this letter to Mother Elizabeth, Sister Eugenie and others who would like to hear about Gregori. After dividing the little they had left between her and her brothers, she was obliged to look for work. She was offered the position of governess to the daughter of the proprietor of these baths. Before she left Florence she sent the six pictures to Notre Dame, the large one scarcely begun, but she thought Edwards would like the last thing done by Gregori. Each day she misses her father more dreadfully. She hopes something will be done about the Nativity; it would be a great help. She begs Edwards to see that it is well taken care of. :: XI-1-n A.L.S. 8pp.
