Audran, Father Ernest, Jeffersonville, Indiana to James F. Edwards, Notre Dame, Indiana, 1892 March 22
Scope and Contents
Whether the stirring up of their people is due to his pamphlet or not he does not know. People are always afraid. He thanks God that Judge Dunne has begun to speak; he is ahead also in his views of the school question. In the United States the people are the state. The whole question is resolved into help yourself and God will help you. This is Christian teaching. Soon as Catholics unite they will have the fullness of their rights in the matter of schools. Vote only for men who will represent Catholic claims in the halls of the legislation, for their share of public money for Catholic schools. :: XI-1-j A.L.S. 3pp.
