Edes, Ella B., Rome, Italy, to James F. Edwards, Notre Dame, Indiana, 1891 September 15
Scope and Contents
She writes at the request of the artist Signor Carnevali to tell that the five portraits ordered for Memorial Hall are ready. They are: Cardinal Leonardo Antonelli, Prefect of the Propaganda, Mgr. Bedini, Mgr. Jacobini, Mgr. Persico, and Mgr. O'Connell. She added a sixth, that of Mgr. Hostlot. Persico was as disagreeable as possible about the portrait. He is very ill-mannered. She sees by the papers that Father Sorin has returned to America. What a wonderful man he is ! She doesn't know where the fathers of the Congregation of the Holy Cross have moved to since quitting St. Bridget. She has not forgotten the relic of Blessed Rita di Cascia that Father Hudson asked for. :: XI-1-i A.L.S. Typed 2pp. 8vo.
