Straniero Mgr. Germano, Rome, Italy, to James F. Edwards, Notre Dame, Indiana, 1889 January 16

 Item — Box: CEDW 4, Folder: 01
Identifier: CEDW XI-1-g

Scope and Contents

He now has a comfortable house where he hopes to see Edwards staying a month or so. A room is already prepared for him. If Edwards sees Mr. Herman Ridder at New York, he is to tell that Straniero wishes to be paid every month instead of every six months. He is to keep his name as correspondent of the Catholic News a secret. In Rome there is a great fight in the offices against the correspondents of papers. Cardinal Mazzelli refused to say anything more about the Sisters of Holy Cross nuns; he asked him not to wire Edwards anything. :: XI-1-g A.L.S. 3pp. 12mo.
