She was very much pleased to receive the "Ave Maria". She had many offers for the books since that she sent them to Edwards, and was sorry that she had nothing for Father Neithart who learned his letters at her father's knee. Her father taught the parochial school of St. Patrick's, Cumberland, Maryland. Ten of the boys became priests.
