He has perhaps already received the photograph of Laval. Her little Irene is very well reproduced in the portrait which she sends. She is very intelligent. Business is poor in Laval. His poor niece is very unhappy. If she did not have Irene she would return to Bronlette. Oh, how she would like to see her uncle! Her poor mother with whom she lives now would be happy to receive him.
