Shea, John Gilmary,, Elizabeth New Jersey, to James F. Edwards, Notre Dame, Indiana, 1887 February 18
Scope and Contents
He asks that Edwards does not let Gregori make the drawing. Shea had supposed the photo bore the name of the Havana photographer so that he could write him to hunt up one of Cirilo Sieni of Barcelona, tit. bp. of Tricali. Shea knows of no life of Bishop John England except Read's article in the "Cabinet". He can send Edwards the funeral discourses on Bishop Simon Brute. Shea suggests that Catholic libraries should exchange duplicates. He relates a friend of his found ten copies of Bishop Cheverus' French Testament printed in Boston. He thanks Father Edward Sorin, C.S.C., for the copy of his circular letters. :: XI-1-e A.L.S. 4pp. 12mo.
