Edwards, James F., Notre Dame, Indiana, to James Cardinal Gibbons, Baltimore, Maryland, 1886 November 13
Scope and Contents
Edwards again takes the liberty to ask for new favors for the Bishops' Memorial Hall. He asks if there is in existence a mitre used by Bishop McGill. He is anxious to secure the mitre in which Gibbons was consecrated. So far Edwards has failed to find souvenirs of the first three archbishops of Baltimore. He asks also for the mitre used by Gibbons at the third Plenary Council. The Memorial Hall is the first attempt to illustrate a nation's whole hierarchy by a complete collection of portraits and relics. :: XI-1-d A.L.S. 4pp. 12mo.
