This was an out-mission of St. Rose's Convent attended for several years by the Dominican Fathers who had settled there in 1806. The priest referred to as having fallen sick was Father Robert Augier, C.P. . one of the original four Fathers who came from England. The other three were Fathers Thomas Wilson, C.P .. Raymond Tuite, C.P. , and Fenwick. About 1817 or 1818 Augier returned by way of Ohio and Baltimore to England where he died some few years afterwards. All three were natives of England. Fenwick was descended of the oldest settlers of Maryland. Byrne has sent Ewing his translation of Father Monsabre's Meditations on the Holy Rosary.
