Euphrasie, Sister, Vincennes, Indiana, to James F. Edwards, Notre Dame, Indiana, 1885 November 11

The mitre she sent of Bishop Maurice de St. Palais was made by his sister-in-law. The pastor H. Peythieu of the old Cathedral at Vincennes always refused to give a souvenir of Bishop Simon Brute, but Sister Euphrasie knew of the Bishop's mitre case in an out of the way cupboard and one day she took it from the church.
