She received her mother's and Edwards' letter. She begins to think Edwards and her mother need to be chaperoned by a nice sedate couple such as Estelle and her husband are. It is a comfort to know that Edwards is with her mother as she knows he will take good care of her. She wants to know exactly how her mother feels.
