He did not hear anything of the death of Bishop John H. Luers of Fort Wayne; he thought he would live forever. He witnessed a ball game between the KeKiongas of Fort Wayne and the Mutuals of New York. He tells of the riot in New York between the Orangemen and Hibernians .
