Though appreciative of the compliment, it is impossible for Bonaparte to preside at the Columbian Catholic Congress. Bishop Keane urged Bonaparte to prepare a paper for the "Parliament of Religions". Bonaparte could not do two papers and asks Onahan to write to the Bishop explaining the situation.
