Goldsmith, Father Charles F. X., Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1890 May 11
Scope and Contents
Goldsmith has been an invalid for two years and while he has charge of a large parish he has been kept from doing the work he was accustomed to do there for twenty-five years. Ten months ago he began publishing the Catholic Sentinel with flattering success. When laid up last week, he sent to the office a copy of the Ave Maria with the article on Japanese missions marked, intending to print extracts from it. The manager instead printed the entire... article. Since the article was taken from European Catholic magazines and neither new or original he could see no harm in using it. Goldsmith is sorry it annoyed Hudson and is ready to make an apology. :: X-3-k A.L.S. 2pp. 12mo.
