Marchal, Marie, Paris, France, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1890 March 29
Scope and Contents
For some years Marchal has been the Paris weekly correspondent of the London Tablet, but a letter from the editor, John George Snead Cox, informs Marchal that the Paris Letter will be done by a permanent member of the staff. The Catholic press of England is not flourishing probably because those who ought to uphold it prefer subscribing to Protestant papers. Marchal was also correspondent for two years to the Catholic Review of New York, before the death of Patrick V. Hickey. The new editor has not asked Marchal to resume the letters. She inquires if Hudson would accept a monthly correspondence from her for the Ave Maria. :: X-3-k A.L.S. 4pp. 16mo.
