Hill, C.P., Father Edmund, Buenos Aires, Argentina, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1890
Scope and Contents
Hill has been waiting for the December number; Father Constantine sent it away before Hill came. Some of their Irish friends took just offence at Father Fidelis Stone, C.P.'s sermon in Chicago. Fidelis was not careful to distinguish between their mission in Buenos Aires and the one in Chile. The Fathers here say that Hudson's paragraph in the Ave Maria must also give offence. Fidelis is in Chile now. He and two other Fathers and one Brother are in the new house at Mira-Mar near Valparaiso. On the journey across the mountains Fidelis got a kick from a mule so that he was unable to return for the cornerstone affair they had here on Sunday. The new church will be large and fine. :: X-3-k A.L.S. 4pp. 8vo.
