Brother Ferdinand Patrick Neeson C.S.C. requested she send the accompanying article written by her brother Andrew A. Egan, a native of Baltimore and a graduate of Loyola College. Joining the Confederate Army at the beginning of the Civil War, Egan was seriously wounded in the battle of Manassas. He was taken to the Catholic Church at Warrenton, Virginia, and placed in a cot opposite a picture of the Madonna and there wrote the enclosed verses. No enclosure :: X-3-k A.L.S. 3pp. 16mo.
