Maes, Bishop Camillus Paul, Covington, Kentucky, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1889 December 6

 Item — Box: CHUD 14
Identifier: CHUD X-3-k

Scope and Contents

The proof is poetical, but it is not historical truth. Maes sends Hudson the first installment of an historical sketch that will acquaint Hudson with the exact truth. There are three Bismarckians and half a dozen milk and water priests in Covington who worry Meas. Hardly an educated man in the neighborhood and he thirsts for genial companionship. Archbishop William Elder is a comfort to him and some of the priests are excellent; but give him the friends of Father Maes. Could he visit Hudson without anybody else bothering about the Bishop, he would be with Hudson next week. :: X-3-k A.L.S. 2pp. 8vo.
