Cleary's article "A Home for Priests in France" has appeared in the Irish Ecclesiastical Record bearing a close resemblance to his paper entitled "To the Pyrenees in Mid-Winter", which was published in the Ave Maria. The manuscript was sent to the Record but after waiting a year for its publication, Cleary revised it and sent it to Hudson for the Ave Maria.
