Scope and Contents
Father Joseph Damien De Veuster requests Hudson forward by McShane Company of Baltimore the bill for their church. Hudson should pay towards this bill the balance of the funds he holds for De Veuster. The remainder of the bill will be paid from the funds De Veuster has on deposit with Bishop and company, bankers in Honolulu. De Veuster is anxious to have the shipment because the work on the church will soon be finished. They now have upwards of one thousand patients. Three sisters are at Kalaupapa caring for a portion of the girls. They are erecting new building for men and boys. Since Father Lambert Conrardy is staying here, a new house is being built for him. Father Wendelin, SS. CC. is at Kalaupapa. The disease progresses quite noticably with De Veuster and his eyes are troubling him. De Veuster adds his greetings to Hudson. :: X-3-i A.L.S. 3pp. 12mo.
