Brownson, Henry F., Detroit, Michigan, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1889 January 26
Scope and Contents
Brownson has been considering Hudson's suggestion about publishing his translation of Francesco Tarducci's "Life of Columbus". Lawrence Kehoe advised him to have it published by Appleton, Harpers or Lippincotts because of the small size of the editions sold by Catholic publishers. He inquires if a portion of his work were published by the Ave Maria, it would interfere with its acceptance by any but a Catholic publisher. The last number of the Colorado Catholic contained a letter from F.J. Kramer telling of a conversion resulting from a reading of his edition of his father's works. :: X-3-i A.L.S. 2pp. 4to.
