Dutton, Ira B. Brother Joseph, Kalawoa, Molokai, Sandwich Islands, to Father Daniel E. Hudson C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1887 April 21

 Item — Box: CHUD 10
Identifier: CHUD X-3-d

Scope and Contents

Father Joseph Damien De Veuster requests that Hudson send some seeds and plants to him which are to be used to landscape the settlement. Since it is located on the north side of the island the salt spray and trade winds render growth of vegetation precarious, so this will be an experiment. The florists are at liberty to suggest whatever they think will grow. Dutton suggests a list of what they desire, which may be procured from John Lewis Childs, a florist in Queens, New York. Kindest regards to Father D. E. Hudson is signed by Father Damien. :: X-3-d A.L.S. 6pp. 12mo.
