Cooney, C.S.C., Father Peter P., Detroit, Michigan, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1886 July 22
Scope and Contents
Cooney thanks Hudson for sending the spectacles and the South Bend newspaper containing the article "Shaking up Father Cooney". He has no recollection of such an incident. Advertising the Convention of the Catholic Total Abstinence Union of America that will be held at Notre Dame will do good for the University. Cooney hopes Father Walsh has invited Archbishop Michael Heiss of Milwaukee, spiritual director of the Union as well as the Archbishops of Cincinnati and Chicago; Bishops Ireland, Spalding, Gilmour, and Dwenger should be invited and to cap the climax, efforts should be made to get Cardinal Gibbons to attend. Cooney's health is improving. :: X-3-c A.L.S. 6pp. 12mo.
