O'Brien, Archbishop Cornelius, Halifax, Nova Scotia, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1885 December 6

 Item — Box: CHUD 8
Identifier: CHUD X-3-a

Scope and Contents

The description of the chapel is exaggerated for it is dry and usable both in summer and winter. They are not bound to provide accommodations for soldiers, this is the responsibility of the Imperial Government. The military chaplain is one of O'Brien's priests but paid by the government. If the writer belongs in the United States, the comparison O'Brien would suggest his making is the fair way Catholic soldiers are treated by the British Army and the manner in which they are treated in the United States. :: X-3-a A.L.S. 3pp. 12mo.
