Dorsey, Anna Hanson, Washington, District of Columbia, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1885 September 21
Scope and Contents
Dorsey sends the third chapter of "Palms". She discusses the plot and background of her story. Dorsey sends for Hudson's perusal a letter received from the Sisters of Charity at Donaldsonville, Louisiana. She asks Hudson to correct their mistaken belief that her serial stories in the Ave Maria, with a few exceptions do not appear in book form. Dorsey is glad to see a beginning of war reminiscences of a Catholic type in the Ave Maria. Its readers might be interested to know the difficulties Dorsey had in getting Edwin Staunton to invite the Sisters of Charity to become Army nurses. If Hudson cares for it, Dorsey will send it as soon as she gets the correspondence from the War Department. :: X-3-a A.L.S. 3pp. 8vo.
