Ten days ago Ryder sent Hudson a sketch on Father Adrian Rouquette and since Ryder is in dire need, he had hoped to hear from Hudson sooner. Ryder believes he can live but one year. When he learned that wealthy Lady Georgiana Fullerton accepted payment for articles written for the Ave Maria, he would feel no shame in accepting payment for his contributions. He is not bitter.
