Edes, Ella, Rome, Italy, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1885 June 2

 Item — Box: CHUD 7
Identifier: CHUD X-2-o

Scope and Contents

Edes received Hudson's favor of May 10, also Brother Edward' s draft for 102 pounds for colored lithographs of Our Lady of Good Counsel. She wrote to Father Mullen at the Shrine of Genazzano for the chromos. He thought it best to send them direct to Notre Dame. Edes has expended 64 lire. If the pictures are exposed to public veneration, there are indulgences attached. The Bishop of Salford, Herbert Vaughan , says the Heart must not be separated from the Body; the 12 promises are objected to here and the matter is before the Holy Office. Edes intends to ask Archbishop Michael Corrigan what has been decided. :: X-2-o A.L.S. 12mo. 4pp.
